The Site and Proposals

The first online consultation event will take place on 26th October 2022 when consultation boards will be available to view online and download.

The Site

The site comprises approximately 9 ha of greenfield land to the southwest of the Newmains settlement, and to the northeast of Woodhall Road. The site surroundings are mixed-use, typical of that of an urban area including residential areas, leisure and commercial areas and greenfield land.

The site topography is generally flat with a cluster of woodland to the east and a line of trees to the southeast of the site.

The site itself is not subject to any historic or environmental designations.

The site is included within the North Lanarkshire Local Development Plan 2 (the “LDP2”) as a Housing Development Site under PROM LOC3 POLICY ‘Housing Development Sites’ and is within the General Urban Area.
